Many of my patients who have damaged or chipped teeth ask about the difference between dental veneers and dental implants in Los Angeles. While both are used to create a healthy and attractive smile, they are recommended for different purposes. Here”s a brief overview:
Dental Veneers
Veneers are placed on top of the teeth and act as thin shells to camouflage imperfections. This option is ideal for patients who need to fill in pokies online in australia gaps, protect their tooth enamel or disguise tooth chips or cracks. People whose teeth are discolored, misshapen or worn down can also benefit from veneers. Veneers are made from a variety of materials, such as porcelain. Newly developed porcelain, such as Zirconium or similar materials, has made a significant improvement in veneers & esthetic dentistry.
Dental Implants
Unlike veneers, dental implants are attached directly to the jawbone and look and function like natural teeth. Dental implants are usually suggested for people who have lost teeth because of injury, gum disease or tooth decay.
At my practice, I use an innovative approach that allows me to place the implants without cutting the tissue. In some cases, stitches are not required, and this reduces bleeding and healing time. With proper care, dental implants are permanent and have a very high success rate.
